Jizo-in temple

Jizo-in, or Take no Tera (a temple of bamboo) was founded in 1367 as a temple of Rinzaishu sect. Hosokawa Yoriyuki, an assistant to Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, funded and Hekita Shuko asked his mentor, Muso Soseki, to be the founder of the temple. The temple was destroyed by fire during Onin civil war and was restored more than hundred years later, in the middle of Edo period (1603 -1867).
