A stone bridge called Shirakawa-bashi, a granite slab about 6 meters long,
65 centimeters wide and 35 centimeters thick. The stream under the bridge
is likened to a river flowing into the sea.
The four stones in the foreground are called Nagare-no-Ochozu (a running
water wash basin). A bucket and a ladle were placed on the stones for guests
to wash their hands before tea ceremonies.
