This is a restaurant which uses machiya, a traditional house of Kyoto. I heard that this kind of restaurants in Gion usually are so exclusive and they do not accept any new customers if they are not accompanied by a regular customer. But, recently, many restaurants do accept new customers. This is one of them. So, you do not need to be nervous.

They serve authentic Japanese cuisine that has a hint of modernity. The food is excellent, though I am not capable to explain in detail in English how good it is... Sorry.
