Hosen-in Temple in Ohara
Hosen-in is one of the sub-temples of Shorin-in. The highlight of this temple is a view of bamboo garden seen from a tatami room. The view is framed like a painting by the beam and posts of the building. A 600-year-old pine tree that look like Mt. Fuji and blood stained Chi-tenjo ceiling are also famous.
Admission fee includes tea and cake.

Chitenjo or "Bloody Ceiling". The wooden ceiling panels used
to be floor panels of Fushimi castle. You can see faint blood stains of
Samurais who committed Harakiri suicide when they were defeated by their

Tsukubai, a wash basin on the middle right of the photo. Two bamboo sticks
